Diagnosed in 1972 with a pituitary tumour just six months after his marriage to Hilary. Years of ill health have ensued and out of the struggle of these years ‘Pearls out of Pain’ has been birthed as he sought with God to understand. Peter was a URC minister until ill health led to his eventual early retirement.
Peter’s poems inspire the listener as he seeks for God in much the same way we see many of David’s psalms seeking God for answers.
Hilary, his wife, is also a poet and her collection of poems ‘A Drift of Angel Wings’ provides an insight into the role of the carer. Between the two books we find a unique insight to a cared for and carer.
